22085 2001-10-20 12:25:00 I have a relatively new Packard Bell, and would like to upgrade the RAM to either 128 or 256 MB.... How do I find out what type of RAM module is installed in my PC, and what would be a compatible replacement Guest (0)
22086 2001-10-20 12:50:00 Have a look thru the manuals they gave you of even the specs from its ad or the sticker some have on them.

Its almost certanly uses SDRAM with is very cheap right now and is sold everywhere.

But, if its a Pentium 4 it needs RDRAM (expensive).
Its very unlikley it has DDR ram as OEM computers aren't really performance machines.

Check your warranty before you go installing any RAM as it will probably void it if you install it yourself.

22087 2001-10-20 19:41:00 That would be pretty disappointing if it was a pentium4 with 64mb of ram! (though nothing would suprise me with those international OEMS)

:-)

22088 2001-10-20 21:32:00 My Packard Bell is a Pentium 3, 733mhz Celeron, 64MB RAM, with 20.0GB Hard Drive running Windows ME OS

Nothing too fancy
