22345 2001-10-23 04:09:00 Hi
I have a problem with Internet Explorer 5. I used to be able to download lots of things at once (6 plus sometimes) but I now can't download more that 2 things at a time. I haven't made any changes to any settings.(I have checked all my options and cant find any changes) I don't use a download manager (Gozilla etc) but I do download a LOT of objects for 'The Sims' and with this sudden restriction on my downloading it takes forever!
Can anyone help?
Thank you.

22346 2001-10-23 04:30:00 Uhh, I know this is a limit imposed by Internet Explorer, and can be changed by a registry setting. I don't know the exact setting, but I posted this in case it reminds someone who does.

BTW: Don't you find unzipping the files into the correct folder zip after zip really annoying? 'ok .wll goes to walls, obj. goes into...'

:-)

22347 2001-10-23 05:19:00 you could try getright as it works really well with multiple downloads. Guest (0)
22348 2001-10-23 05:21:00 I think a download manager is essential when using IE5+ because the download features within the browser(s) are non-existant.

I'd recommend Freshdownload from www.freshdevices.com as a download manager. It is easy to use and configure, supports multiple downloads and I have experienced the highest download speeds whilst using a 56K modem.

22349 2001-10-23 06:47:00 The unzipping into the different folders is a pain but I have to confess I am a Sims download addict!! Guest (0)
22350 2001-10-23 06:51:00 Does Freshdownload contain 'spy software' ??
Many Sim sites do not respond to download managers and ask that you disable them.
Up until a few days ago I could download to my hearts content but for some reason now I have a limit.

22351 2001-10-23 09:19:00 Try download accelerator. Search google for it and you'll find a download site. Guest (0)
