| 22342 | 2001-10-23 03:39:00 | I am new to the computer world having purchased a PC only two months ago. When IE6 was released I raced to upgrade from 5.5 and have found the new release to be okay but it crashes more often than the older 5.5. I would be reluctant to try an uninstall to go back to 5.5 because of some problems that I have heard of on other posts. I think it may be best to wait for the inevitable 6.1. Any comments? Also has anyone found that when adding favourites to the favourites list in IE6 some websites add a little icon/logo to the left of the link only to drop the logo the next time IE6 is started. Is this a bug? Would deleting the cookies have any impact on these icons/logos? |

If this dosnt work(and you cant wait to IE 6.1 or IE 7.0) get hold of Opera (avalible on the PC World cover CD and www.opera.com) its a small and fast browser which I have found to be a good alternative to IE. | Guest (0)

It seems to crash four or five times in about an hour or so, I have also tried to use the repair facility on add/remove programs but it is still crashing. Would a complete reinstall be the best bet or go back to ie5.5. I might even give opera a turn. Gordon | Guest (0)
