| 22259 | 2001-10-22 09:19:00 | I'm sure I'm just pointing out the obvious, but seems like people asking for help don't give enough information which make responses even more difficult to specifically solve the problem. Useful information would be hardware information, operating system, and relevant softwares. For example, don't just say that the CD burner is not working, but specify what type/brand and the basic system setup. In the old old days of PC World, one had to send in a printed copy of the autoexec.bat and config.sys files including DOS version and installed softwares in addition to hardware information. |

| 22263 | 2001-10-23 20:47:00 | Come on, people! How many of you really, in all honesty, ACTUALLY read the instructions on everything you use? I know I don't, and anyone who says they do is a liar. Common sense would dictate that a message like 'my computer doesn't work, what's wrong' is going to be either ignored or answered with questions. Since when does common sense come into computing? Anyway, you're right, and you can but try. Regards, Robo. |
