| 22509 | 2001-10-24 23:51:00 | I'm on Ihug Ultra at the moment. I find the 2GB limit is more than enough for my current internet usage. It works out to 66.6MB per day of usage and I don't play online games or watch online movies or do much live streaming stuff. Most of my downloads are spent on MP3s and the occasional movie trailers. It's the speed that matters more to me. I can open at least 5 browers simultaneously and still flick thru various sites without much delay. Simply brilliant! At the fastest, without using accelerators, I can download about 8MB in 1 minute (eg when doing a Windows update). In fact, most of the time I don't really make full use of the 1.5Mbps bandwidth unless I'm doing 10 simultaneous MP3 downloads (by they way, I can download about 20+ MP3 songs in an hour on average). |

| 22510 | 2001-10-25 11:26:00 | Well I am on IHug and the 2GB limit sucks. It is easy to use 2GB a month quickly. It sucks more as it was advertised as no limits to start with and that is how I signed up. 300 hours per month is all the limit there was. As for the speed it varies. I have seen speeds up to 400KBytes/sec but I have also seen them suck along at 5K/sec. What made this worse also was a 50KBytes/sec cap that IHug put in place then denied it existed. It was quite obvious. For me right now IHUg is my only high speed option but if Jetstream was at my place I would not hesitate and would take it even though it costs more. PS. Satellite is **** for game playing. For games I go back to my modem connection to Paradise. |

| 22511 | 2001-10-25 12:05:00 | yea the 2gig cap sucks alright. i'm doing some testing at the moment and had speeds up to 500k/s. i have been told they have seen speeds up to 900k/s. but it seems theres to many other bottle necks as for a while it would only go as high as 130k/s. though for regular surfing i don't really find it a lot faster unless the sites has heaps of graphics. for small sites the satelittes lag cancells out the effect of the high speed downloading. | Guest (0) | ||
