22743 2001-10-27 06:51:00 Hi there
Just curious about why my print screen function doesn't quite reproduce the entire web page when pasted into either a Word document or Wordpad?
Seems to cut a bit off the bottom no matter how I play around with text size, full screen mode etc.
Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance
Lynne

22744 2001-10-27 08:17:00 Its probably a limitation of Word.

Try pasting into an image program like Irfanview (www.irfanview.com).

If you need them in word, then shrinking the image in Irfanview may stop it from cutting off the bottom.

22745 2001-10-27 08:26:00 There are 2 ways to copy a page into Word. If you require the full contents of a web page then go: Edit, Select All; Edit, Copy; then open Word and go Edit, Paste.
(or if you prefer a keyboard: [ctrl A][ctrl C][ctrl V]). If you want to copy only what's on the screen - which includes the menus but not things that are off screen - go [Alt PrintScreen], open Word and again Edit, Paste

22746 2001-10-27 10:11:00 I find that if I press the Print Screen SysRq button on the keyboard the whole viewable screen picture is copied to the clipboard and can be pasted into a word 97 document ok. (win 98)

If I press Alt+Print Screen buttons together it copies any window that is open, but not anything that is outside that window, even though it is viewable on the screen.

ie.If part of the desktop is viewable beneath an open window on the screen, the first method would copy that part of the desktop also, whereas the second method would not as it is outside the open window.

I have put a clipboard icon on my desktop plus a three key keyboard shortcut to it.
I find it very handy to see exactly what has been copied before I paste.
