| 22641 | 2001-10-26 05:57:00 | provided the case has a power supply fitted and it is pluged into a wall socket. | Guest (0) | ||
| 22642 | 2001-10-26 06:24:00 | Make that plugged in but turned off, the wrist strap is just an electrical circuit, and the electricity can flow both ways. I can think of a couple of things Id rather do than connect my wrist to live mains... ;-) |

You don't handle components by the gold plated connectors, you don't pick them up at all without touching an earthed surface, (or wearing an antistatic strap) ... You won't get a lethal shock because you are wearing an antistatic strap: there is a megohm of resistance built into the lead. They thought of that. If you touch a mains phase, you'll feel it earthed or not. If you are effectively earthed you might not feel it for long. |

| 22645 | 2001-10-31 04:35:00 | When I put the comp bits into the newcase i put the anti-static strap to the case when it wasn't connected in. Lucky it didn't dammage it. But when i put everything in it didn;t boot up. Nothinbg came on the screen- beeped twice. I took it into comp shop to get fixed. They said i put the cables around wrong. What would of they done? |
