As it seems to be in a safe place it will be easiest to leave it where it is. So assuming your system does have an autoexec.bat file, then Grahams DOS command line will be altered a bit. From Start button - Programs, find and click on the MS Dos prompt. Then type: echo c:\windows\drivers\597v113.exe >>c:\autoexec.bat then press enter. This should add the line: c:\windows\drivers\597v113.exe to your autoexec.bat file. Next time you boot up this program will be executed. It is called a TSR, Terminate-Stay Resident, ie it is executed on boot up and remains active til you switch off. Get back to us if you have problems. Cheers |

The double Redirection command >> as well as writing to a file, creates the file if it does not exist, in this case autoexec.bat, so whether you have autoexec.bat or not to start with doesnt matter. If you still get crashes and blue screens after the vga bios 'upgrade', consider changing the cpu to an AMD or Intel. Also the Cyrix PR233 actually runs at 200MHZ. |
