| 22713 | 2001-10-26 22:31:00 | Hello, I am attempting to install Access 2000 on a computer running NT4 service pack 6a. I have two hard drives, one of which is divided into two partitions. One partition, C:\ holds the o\s and is 500mb. The other partiton, E:\ and the second drive, D:\ are for data etc. The problem is that the installer won't allow me to install Access to any other drive or partition other than C:\, which doesn't have enough room for it. The error message that I get shows a dialog box with a picture of the volumes and their sizes and available freespace, so the installer can 'see' them. It will allow me to specify the drive and folder to install the software into but at that point it just says that the volume in drive C:\ has insufficient space, (which I know!) I have hunted around at the Microsoft Knowledge Base and have spent about three hours on this task already, I just want to get on with my work! any ideas? Thanks |

There may be a way to overcome this, but none that I'm aware of. The only thing I can suggest is resizing your partitions to give a little more space on C: for the Access files (it's not wanting to put the whole program there, just some files...). I suggest Partition Magic as a good starting point for a program to resize the partitions. |
