| 22696 | 2001-10-26 10:08:00 | a site that i am a member of has just changed its setup.i had to reapply to keep my membership.i filled out the page name email address etc. they then sent me confirmation of my user name and password,but when i try to open the url the pop up signin box comes up,my name is in the user name box but the password box has a password in it coloured blue.if i press ok or type my password in i am told that the password is not correct and the popup box comes up again with my name but this time the password box is empty.if iput the password in it rejects it again.my site has sent me two new passwords but still on luck.ihave put security on med.i have just change to ie6 can this be the problem.please help this driving me nuts.i am just a beginner so can i keep it simple,thanks robert | Guest (0) | ||
| 22697 | 2001-10-26 10:28:00 | Just a couple of ideas, It maybe still giving you the password from the very first time you joined, windows can remember your passwords and put them automatically into the box. Then when you reapplied for a new membership, if your name and password weren't exactly the same (including capitals etc.) you could be putting your new password on your old name. You can check this by highlighting your user name and retyping it, and the password, and see if you get on then. |
