22630 2001-10-26 04:18:00 I have designed a simple web site using Dreamweaver.
The site works fine.
I would like to know where I can get a free hit counter programme, and also how to attach the programme to my home page?

22631 2001-10-26 04:40:00 If you are using a free web provider, such as Geocities, once you become a member, they show you the code needed to have a hit counter. Guest (0)
22632 2001-10-26 05:05:00 Thanks Dylan.
Actually, I'm using Ihug.
I would prefer not to join any organisation if possible.
I just want a simple counter invisible to viewers.

22633 2001-10-26 21:22:00 Webmonkey refer to this site:
www.tashian.com

They have a list of sites that should be able to help you.

Otherwise try
builder.cnet.com

These are both really good sites which cover just about anything.

Yes, I do mean a counter that is not seen by the customer.
I will try those web sites given. Thanks Paul.

22636 2001-10-29 04:51:00 As most of the suggestions above seem to be for server-side or paid counters, here's a modest little idea.

Go to <http://extremetracking.com> and register for a free counter. Then modify the source code they supply so that their graphic is 1 pixel x 1 pixel. Presto! Invisible AND free! (Shhhh! Don't tell everyone).

Have a great day.
