22914 2001-10-29 09:19:00 There doesnt appear to be any option in Media Player to clear this list. So the only alternative is to remove entries in the registry using regedit.exe.

They are located at:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\P layer\RecentFileList

If you delete the file entries in the right hand window, they will disappear from the list under the File tab in Media Player. Its a bit of a pain however to do this all the time, maybe its best to just leave them.

22915 2001-10-29 10:34:00 Hello Mark,
If you don't feel confident, editing the registry or just want a quicker way of doing it, go to the following link and download Windows media player powertoys this utility is made by the same team that brought tweakui and for the same reasons to add functions to windows utilities that should have been included in he first place, once installed it is a one click task to clear the menu.
