| 22896 | 2001-10-29 03:36:00 | When I go thru the start menu and click on Help it brings up a page cant be displayed message like in Internet Explorer, the only way I can access Help & Support is to go thru the run command and type in Windows/system/help, what has happened that caused the help not to display right | Guest (0) | ||

However this can often replicate the same errors that you have, but it's a good enough suggestion to try, because you won't be worse off. Bear in mind though that it's not a bad idea to backup any essential files (eg word docs etc that are invaluable and save them on floppy or elsewhere), Another option though, is to utilise Windows 'super help' - Your Win 98 CD should have a program called Win 98 Resource Kit - this is an amazing condensed version of MS's book of the same title. You can find this by popping the Win 98 CD into the drive, and exploring to Tools, Reskit, and installing it from there. I believe you'll never need to use the plain Windows Help files again once you have this! |
