22874 2001-10-28 23:54:00 is there a setting in Win95 (or Win98) that will allow two seperate computers (physically isolated) to share the same telecom phone circuit at the same time ?

(I have an internet-dedicated phone line and have two PCs (that can not be networked) and would like to access the internet from both PCs at the same time.)

22875 2001-10-29 00:08:00 No. How can you 'share' a connection while being uable to communicate between the computers. Why can't they be notworked? Guest (0)
22876 2001-10-29 03:24:00 You can connect them both to the phone line. But it won't work. You could buy a router, which will network them, and also enable 'simultaneous' access to the Internet through a single modem. But you will not be able to do that without special arrangements with your ISP. It will cost you ... Guest (0)
22877 2001-10-29 04:59:00 Brent - I have multiple phone outlets allowing multiple modem connections.

Unfortunately, the house sits on a concrete pad and has no roof cavity. The two computers are in opposite corners of the house. Thus, cabling is a major problem.

A friend (aren't they wonderful creatures) seemed to think that Win98 would allow muliple connections under these circumstances, hence my question.
