22947 2001-10-29 09:25:00 Gidday,

Can someone access my computer remotely when it is not switched on?

What are the best forms of defence to remote access?

Cheers

22948 2001-10-29 09:37:00 If there is no power supply going to the computer (ie unplugged) they will not be able to remote access your computer. Also if you disonnect the modem from the phone line they won't get access.

22949 2001-10-29 10:39:00 Also get a firewall to prevent intrusion while you are online. A good one is free from www.zonealarm.com Guest (0)
22950 2001-10-29 18:48:00 If your power settings in BIOS are set to 'wake on LAN' or 'wake on call' then someone could remotely start your PC without it currently being on. Guest (0)
