1281443 2012-06-13 20:13:00 I bought a cheaper one on Trademe, and promptly lost it.
It only came with support for up to XP, and by the time I tracked down Win7 drivers online I couldn't find the darn thing!

1281444 2012-06-13 21:07:00 Here (acronum.com) genuine ones that use the prolific chip, which is what is recommended for most instruments and stuff that need one of these cables gary67 (56)
1281445 2012-06-13 21:27:00 I am using a Dick Smith one as per Slankydudl's link above and it works for me. Gary's link looks good and a lot cheaper I would go for that as your first choice. CliveM (6007)

I have a couple of the XH8290, but neither will work with Win 7 64 bit, even the CD that came with the adapter said it works with up to Win 2000.

Wish I could get my XH8290 to co-operate and do as I tell them to do ! <grin>

Did you go through device manager, to see if it could find a driver? Or windowsupdate? This guy found a driver for Win7 (reviews.dse.co.nz)

If windowsupdate still doesnt work, install teamviewer, and I'll have a look sometime
