1259067 2012-02-14 07:48:00 Nice little site passed on to me by a friend:

HERE (http://showmystreet.com/)

Just enter your address and see how fast the response is to show a photo image (satellite or street view) of your locale.

Or, type slowly, and watch the map presentation change as you enter each street number or character. It took only 5 key presses to come up with my Ellerslie address.

1259068 2012-02-14 07:52:00 That is pretty cool. You start off in some rather weird locations before it targets in. Jen (38)
1259069 2012-02-14 08:09:00 Simple and fast. Handy. I think it's a mashup of Google instant search and maps using their Maps API. (code.google.com) I have been trying to make mashes but tricky. More examples at maps mania. (http://googlemapsmania.blogspot.co.nz/) kahawai chaser (3545)
1259070 2012-02-14 08:18:00 It is fast alright but the images appear to be stretched. Bobh (5192)
1259071 2012-02-14 08:32:00 Not to bad, only got my street number and wainuio and it located my place -- Place looks tidy, must have done some work the day the shots were taken :D

Those maps are actualy really handy, esp if going to some places you have no idea where the persons house or business is.

1259072 2012-02-14 09:00:00 It is about time the Google camera came around our neighbourhood again. I have had steps built to my front door and the plants have grown a bit. Across the road a few new houses have been built. Google camera shows empty sections with long grass where the new houses are now. :( Bobh (5192)

It was a cold winter morning when it came past my place, with the sun low and glaring straight into the camera. That, plus some condensation on the lens means much of my neighbourhood is barely visible on Google maps.

If I had the choice though, I'd opt for better clarity (res) on the aerial shots instead.

1259075 2012-02-14 09:55:00 Way better than maps. Worked extremely fast. The photo is really out of date. As our drive way has an Izuzu Mu and a red Toyota. We haven't had them in quite a few years. If it was current, it would show a green holden truck thingy (the ones with built on trailers) and a silver Nissan Wingroad from 2001.

Edit, this is picture of my street. Not my house. All adress things have been filtered out.
