1281586 2012-06-14 09:53:00 I run Windows 7 professional 32 Bit.

My ESET NOD32 Licence has expired and I do not wish to renew it.

I want to uninstall it but cannpot do it. It does not show up in Control panel Programs Uninsrtall.
It is disabled

I went into Explorer Folders Program Files and Program Data. I tried deleting ESET there. I get a message > You need SYSTEM rights to enable this action.

I have tried to delete these after logging in as Adnministrator but get same message.
In User Accounts I did a comaprison of authorisations between SYSTEM and Administrator. SYSTEM has at the bottom Special ticked.

Under Administrator this option is greyed out.
I cannot (do not know how) to get SYSTEM rights.
Guidance please on how I can get rid of NOD32 so that I can safely install AVAST.

I need to remove ESET NOD32 from 3 laptops (the other 2 have Windows VISTA).

Thanks

1281587 2012-06-14 10:00:00 Any reason you want to go backwards -- Avast is not as good as Nod, had a computer today ( and several other times as well), totally destroyed with infections that Avast couldn't stop.

I went into Explorer Folders Program Files and Program Data. I tried deleting ESET there DONT DO THAT -- if you do you'll never get it out as it will still leave all the reg keys and you will have it stuck there.

If you must uninstall it, DONT use the windows uninstaller it doesn't do as well as Esets own Watch this (kb.eset.com)

1281589 2012-06-14 11:38:00 Thanks Wainuitech and Greven. You both had same solution. The Video was great.

One core problem at my end > ESET does not show up in "Start All Programs". I tried typing in the name ESET in the Search bar at the bottom but got just got documents using those letters as part of their name.

Any further steps you can think of?

1281590 2012-06-14 11:48:00 Use the uninstaller that has been suggested . And use MSE it's much better than avast GameJunkie (72)
1281591 2012-06-14 13:24:00 Install it again and then uninstall it perhaps? CYaBro (73)

Any further steps you can think of? If you have disabled indexing then that can cause that to happen. If you click start/All programs the ESET folder should be there. I sometimes find that if I have to remove a trial version it doesn't show in Revo-uninstaller.

Personally I never go in Via All programs, I just double click the Icon in the icon tray next to the clock. It all depends on how you set things up as to how easy or hard programs are to get to.
