1259300 2012-02-15 21:04:00 Hi there
in general .....
What is the better service for 'cloud' storage .
MS Livedrive or Google+ ??
or dropbox ??

any important pros & cons with either ??

1259301 2012-02-15 21:34:00 Out of the two, neither, as Google+ is a social networking service and Livedrive doesn't exist ;)

Try SkyDrive :)

1259302 2012-02-15 22:08:00 I use Google+ with Instant Upload for all my storage of photos / videos.

See this: www.youtube.com

G+ doesn't *have* to be used with Instant Upload, but if you can, it's worth using!

1259303 2012-02-15 22:21:00 Depends on what you're wanting to store. G+ is great for photos from your phone with Instant Upload, but as pcuser42 points out, G+ is not a storage solution but a social network.

If it's documents you want online access to, then Google Docs or Dropbox (or similar) is what you want...

1259304 2012-02-15 23:37:00 I use Gmail, Google Docs, and Picassa. Though Google's G drive is supposedly coming soon. (www.pcworld.com l_drive.html) kahawai chaser (3545)
1259305 2012-02-16 09:54:00 I'm thinking about some cloud storage when we get fiber interwebs connection next month. Anyone used SkyDrive? pine-o-cleen (2955)
1259306 2012-02-16 10:00:00 Hmm, it seems you can't buy extra space on SkyDrive.

So what about NZ cloud services?

I like the idea of all our photos being backed up in multiple locations. At the moment they get backed up on an external drive, and whenever the family is around, we take copies of each others photos, but cloud storage as well would be a lot better!

Picasa would suit you for images. I think you get 1GB for free, but can buy more space if you need it...

Alternatively, Dropbox definitely has upgradeable storage - for a price...

1259308 2012-02-17 00:00:00 Yeah G+ (Which uses Picasa) coz then you can share with each other etc... Chilling_Silence (9)
1259309 2012-02-17 07:21:00 I just looked. We have just under 100gb of photos... pine-o-cleen (2955)
