1472550 2020-10-24 21:51:00 Unless you are a sports fanatic, I see no reason as to why you would subscribe to Sky. There is so much free content out there, on You Tube in particular, that you would be just wasting your money paying for movies, etc.

Perhaps there is a platform where you can watch free sport as well? It would not surprise me.

1472551 2020-10-24 23:24:00 Sport has the rights pretty well locked up the world over. Only some sports are free. On platforms like red bull tv etc.

But for the big ones premier league, rugby (in this neck of the woods), tennis golf, f1. It’s driven by broadcast rights and selling them to pay tv.

1472552 2020-10-25 00:38:00 Because I hate Netflix. I use my sons multi-person subscription, well almost never because I can hardly find anything on it. Everything I have searched for is available on SKy and not on NZ Netflix.

Don't tell me about VPNs, I tried.

Sky is easy, I turn on the TV and usually there is some doco or such I like.
I hate scrolling through lists of boring stuff to find something. Another Plus for Sky.

Mostly it's docos, and some stuff like Top Gear or similar.....occasionally a movie.
Series......rarely. Last one I watched was The KNick.

They get a lot of ****, but I am fairly happy with the service. They are also thinking of custom channels too, which would be good.

netflix, youtube , meh.

1472553 2020-10-28 23:32:00 Sky is easy for me too Piroska. Pick up the remote (always found in the same place), turn on the TV and surround sound, quick scroll through although most of what I watch will be in the planner with series link. I have SkySport Mar-Nov for motor sports. SOHO have some good series. I don't use On Demand much. All good. bellbird (6169)

1472555 2020-10-29 06:59:00 But I can do that with You Tube - usually every day. Even if you want to watch something in particular, like a series or something. I can't see the advantage of Sky. Roscoe (6288)
1472556 2020-10-29 10:45:00 Please tell me where else can I watch Formula One motor racing live - the free practices, the qualifying and the race? Zippity (58)

No you can't. You need the internet first.
You need to search for the video.

I turn on the TV and there it is...
