| 1472077 | 2020-10-04 20:43:00 | There's been rumours of this for a while now for a number of places in the world. You read it here first: The conclusion as it stands now is that even if an effective vaccine is developed, it wont eradicate the virus and it will be necessary to be vaccinated several times a year to avoid re-infection. www.theyeshivaworld.com |

However, I am not going near it until it's a properly tested official one, not these rushed half measures. |

I'd rather let others be the guinnea pigs before subjecting myself to it. This is however tempered by the fact that I can now largely self isolate fairly well. If I was still working (which was up close and right by peoples noses) I'd probably want to be among the first to get any vaccine. Maybe, just maybe, if a global scale vaccination could be pushed out to a large percentage of the worlds population we could conceivably purge the virus from us... but there remains 2 major issues - lots of the poorer, more isolated, less developed (less educated / ignorant / suspicious) countries / states / sects / cultures could remain stubborn pockets where they resist taking up the vaccine. OR we might find that other critters have become hosts for the virus, and continue to pass it on to humans ad infinitum. But yeah, if / when it recombines with other pathogens that inhabit humans... if it becomes less of an issue, we all relax and catch it, or it gets even more dangerous, and we get a major global population correction, and live under a veil of fear. |

The countries with the most money & power will be the first to get these vaccines , NZ will be well down the list . Some countries are buying the vaccine ( all of it ) before its even ready to go . |

| 1472084 | 2020-10-12 20:19:00 | The problem is that its all just best guess at this stage No one knows , as the virus hasnt been around long enough to know for sure whats going to happen long term Some experts are saying even immunity after recovering from covid doesnt last & you can get re-infected . The good news is , if an old fatty like Trump can survive covid , most of us would survive covid . |
