1466549 2020-02-05 23:12:00 I have an HP Stream G3 which used to belong to my Grandson. It had Windows 10 Student in it. It needs a clean install, so I tried to install Windows 10 Pro v 1903. It will only install W10 S. How can I get it to install W10 Pro instead? I have used the same iso file several times, so I know that Pro is in it. Would it be something in the BIOS?
The SSD is 58GB, so there is plenty of room.

1466550 2020-02-06 00:45:00 Windows will be detecting the Version that's embedded in the Motherboard To change to Pro you will need a Pro Licence.

Once S is installed you then open the properties of This PC, OR in search type in Change Product Key - Click on "Change Product Key" in the window that opens Type in Your Professional Key, it will go check, then assuming all is well, upgrade to Professional.

If Its Windows 10 S That's different again, you can change it over to a regular Install.

Struck it the other day, had to change it to Home full. There was an option to change it back to Standard.

Here's what S actually is: www.theguardian.com

1466551 2020-02-06 22:22:00 I have found another way.
* Prepare a USB stick (I use Rufus)
* Mount USB stick in file manager (I use Nemo)
* Create a file with Notepad or equivalent:-

[Channel]
Retail

* Save as ei.cfg (if using Notepad it may have extension .txt, remove it.)
* Copy the "ei.cfg" file and paste it into the "Sources" folder of Windows 10 Iso on USB stick.

When you install, a list of available W10's is displayed for your selection. This overrides any records in BIOS.
