2020-02-02 17:31:00 | Ok, I have Windows 10 and have a very annoying problem! On the taskbar, to the left, next to the search box, i had a shortcut for recent items. If i hovered the mouse over the icon (it looked like the file explorer icon) it would bring up a window showing all my recent files and i could navigate to them. So, i accidentally deleted this and cannot get i back. Recent items still appears in my Quick access menu but i cannot create a shortcut in the task bar to get it back to how it was before, can anyone help???

2020-02-02 22:51:00 | Make a Desktop Shortcut to the Recent Items Folder Right-click on the desktop. In the Context Menu, choose New. Select Shortcut. In the box, “type the location of the item”, enter %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\ Click Next. Name the shortcut Recent Items or a different name if desired. Click Finish.

The person whos computer it is wants it back on the task bar (which lists the recents in a pop-up windowwhen the mouse is hovered over it), rather than a shortcut on the desktop | borax (7078) | ||

2020-02-03 08:58:00 | Looks like i have got a bit confused (not hard), it is in fact recent files i deleted off the task bar. And yes, it is the jump list that i need back. When i got to quick access the recent files do appear there. I just need that transferred down to the task bar area, with the jump list working | borax (7078) | |
2020-02-03 17:34:00 | What happens when you right click the "quick access". You should get a drop down menu, select "pin to taskbar". job done. | Bryan (147) | |
