1472325 2020-10-16 21:40:00 Now where is my conversion chart??????????

See my post #7 above for a useful link

Yep Wal found mine which agrees.

Mine is actually an XL spreadsheet that I've put together over a number of years from various sources.

10544

The bottom line shows what's included.

The actual place in named "Elizabeth Reef" and has been the resting place for many vessels over many years.

Here's a shot from a plane.

However, the venture looks unlikely given the shortage of Petrol Stations along the way and the distance from Mooloolaba being 371NM :groan:

Even if we had enough fuel to get there, there is the small matter of getting back. :D

Further investigation is needed. ;)

1472326 2020-10-16 22:05:00 Even the simpler Google Maps can handle coordinates, and you don't need the degrees symbol, it seems to figure it out if you just put a space between the degrees, minutes and seconds. Just type it into the search bar. 29 57 25S, 159 04 32E Paul.Cov (425)

Well I copied and pasted the coordinates as both you and Wainui presented them and no luck with either.

Maybe my version of Google Earth thinks Degrees - Minutes - Seconds is so old fashioned. :D

Just downloaded Google Earth and installed, Same results on Web Based.

Original coordinates as post #1 AND after looking where Walone posted where it actually is, two different results.

Its Stumped:

10548

Found it

10549

Apart from the spaces its the same - removed them an nada - still didn't work.

BM just as a test, google the location ( this link may work) www.google.co.nz DAHaACOE&oq=Elizabeth+Reef&gs_lcp=CgZwc3ktYWIQARgAMggILhDJAxCTAjICCAAyAggAMgI IADIGCAAQFhAeMgYIABAWEB4yBggAEBYQHjIGCAAQFhAeMgYIA BAWEB4yBggAEBYQHlDyIljyImDKNGgBcAB4AIABsQGIAbEBkgE DMC4xmAEAoAECoAEBqgEHZ3dzLXdperABAA&sclient=psy-ab

Then Copy / paste the coordinates on the right into your search on Google Earth see if it opens.

1472331 2020-10-17 06:12:00 I find it quite annoying the G earth doesn't have the option to use the local NZ grids as used on Topo maps gary67 (56)
