Also that.

If it saves lives, I'm all for it.

1471680 2020-09-04 22:42:00 I don't have a smartphone but SWMBO does and she uses it everywhere she goes. We do not care if the government knows everywhere we go. As pcuser says

1471681 2020-09-04 23:12:00 Heh....my phone, on occasion I want to look at gaspy, comes up and says you are so undercover we can't find you and I type in my location manually.
Some don't have GPS, Google or whatever on their phones.

And some, like Husband has no smartphone at all and cannot install apps. My mum doesn't have any cellphone.
So apps....not much use for them. The GPS on mine works well. Been several times got home cant find my phone  look it up, sometimes shows its nearby centered on the car so more than likely fallen out of pants and hiding under/down seat. OR on the Odd occasion last customers place I visited.

One it had fallen out under the desk while laying down playing with cables. She got a bit of a surprise when I rang back on land line saying I'll be back shortly to get my phone that's under your desk.

One of these days I'm tempted to drive around and make it draw a giant (you know what) LOL

1471683 2020-09-05 05:20:00 Doesn't matter, we just went to the tip and there was a guy asking if people had app, he signed people in if they didn't. As do most shops here.
Need to worry more about the MPs cuddling babies and such and not maintaining distance....

1471686 2020-09-06 06:44:00 You wanna check existing app permissions :devil Exactly, every single app on your phone can see /use your contacts, photos, basically everything on the phone, if you don't allow, the app wont install. wainuitech (129)
1471687 2020-09-06 22:21:00 When it wouldnt install on my phone, because the Android version was too old (v6) , I knew it was a lost cause .
If they want us to use it , making it as compatible as possible should have been the 1st priority .
Why have an app, thats so important, that only works with those who keep up with all the latest tech .

My new phone is compatible, but I wont install it.
From what I see at the shops & supermarkets , the majority of people dont use it & dont scan the barcode at shop entrances .

I just use a barcode scanner app at places where its compulsory to scan on entrance .
Scanning with a barcode app redirects you to the MOH's website to manually enter details ( a few tick boxes)
