| 1466054 | 2020-01-19 00:02:00 | What? Is Freedom of Speech a euphemism for racist ranting? In NZ we can say what we like pretty much so long as it isn't nastiness about minority groups and hate speech. At the moment, but look at what happens with the gun buy back They only need to pass a small law, then it can be expanded. |

| 1466057 | 2020-01-19 20:37:00 | I read the OP out of interest, had nothing to offer, didn't comment. that's one of your 80, I expect the rest are much the same as already suggested. The whole freedom of speech thing has always been conditional, no one has ever really had the freedom to say whatever they like and in my opinion nor should they. It wouldn't be any different on a forum you ran I'd suggest. If someone starts ranting about a topic you disapprove of or about something illegal or objectionable are you going to leave it there because "freedom of speech" or are you going to delete it and maybe ban them because that's the right thing to do ? Freedom of speech is an illusion. |

| 1466058 | 2020-01-19 21:04:00 | hello I want to set up a website with a forum . As I no longer trust nz websites due to government interference etc So you trust overseas governments more than the NZ govt . Serious question . And you trust overseas hosting providers 100% And you believe the NZ govt & authorities will have zero access to your overseas website ? tin foil hat stuff ? :p |

Freedom of speech is an illusion. Pretty much sums up my thoughts too. Freedom of speech also doesn't mean anyone has to give you a platform. | pcuser42 (130) | ||
| 1466060 | 2020-01-24 07:04:00 | To be honest, most webhosts will have installable forum software that will fit you. Unfortunately, I only use VPS servers now and have not kept up to date with web hosts but I will assume godaddy is still chugging along fine. So maybe check out the big players? |

I really wonder about a few things - one of which is the preference for a North Korea Web-host Good luck with that! Its very slow going for me, as I am only an amateur. But I have my domain name I have bought my forum software - Xenforo And I have a webhoste site based in Bulgaria with servers in Singapore. (I was worried about North Korea being Nuked) Give me a couple of days and I hope to have the forum running. |
