2020-09-01 07:28:00 | On the news the panic over the DOS attacks. We' take it seriously they say.....well why aren't protections in place in the first place? And NZ is about to do a plasma trial for covid treatment, have they not read the already done trials that show it isn't effective? This is something the crops up all the time, medical trials that have already been done overseas, already finished and conclusions already reached. But then, and only then, NZ does one. Husband was asked to participate in one a while back...some pill for diabetes. Well, the overseas ones said it was NOT for type 1's only type 2's and didn't work out well anyway. But they wanted him to do it, ages after. And while the GP would be paid, husband wouldn't. Yeah right.

2020-09-01 19:21:00 | You have to spend a few years living out of NZ to realise just how insignificant we are to the rest of the world. | CliveM (6007) | |
2020-09-01 20:52:00 | You have to spend a few years living out of NZ to realise just how insignificant we are to the rest of the world. That doesn't explain why we must ignore everyone elses research and waste time and money on things that have been long concluded. Stupid? Arrogant?

2020-09-01 23:05:00 | On the news the panic over the DOS attacks. We' take it seriously they say.....well why aren't protections in place in the first place? . Because they didnt want to spend the money . Its that simple . The Stock Exchange website : I hate to think whats its costing them now , in downtime & tech support to fix it . Would have been cheaper to just pay the ransom . And because its in the news worldwide, the hackers arnt going to just give up & move on . They hackers cant let it be known that they would just give up after a week , not in such a well known case. Not related to what SXS did but, What I see it all the time, is small companies get a Student, uncle Son/nephew to setup the Company website . Then its left to rot. Never maintained or updated . Wordpress sites (and others) left hopelessly out of date without the necessary security patches . Staffer who doesnt know what they are doing (by their own admission) are told to look after it regardless. Give it a few years its a mess . Then it gets hacked and no one notices untill way too late . I often tell them NOT to put company email adresses on company websites , as those emails adresses get harvested by spammers . So they do it anyway , and leave it there when warned. They put the staffers full name & email on the website . Thats very usefull info for scammers & spammers Just the NZ way of doing things .

2020-09-01 23:09:00 | As for voting them in, we are in a cleft stick I think. If the voters don't like their sitting member and do not vote for that person, the next in line gets in and thinks they are like sliced bread (and are probably much worse). So the perpetuality continues ad infinitum. | Bryan (147) | |
