23158 2001-10-30 23:36:00 Just upgraded from Win98 to W2K and there's all this rubbish in my system tray.. I used to go into msconfig and uncheck what I don't want, but under W2K msconfig doesn't appear to work. Any ideas where I can go to wrestle control of my sys tray back again? Guest (0)
23159 2001-10-31 08:20:00 MSConfig doesn't exist in Windows 2000. It makes a return in WinXP.

To get around this, open regedit, and try the following registry keys for the run data (delete the entries you don't want, and don't do anything you're not completely 100% totally sure of)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run

There are utilities around to do this, but to be honest it's just as easy to do it this way.

Cheers, James
