23388 2001-11-02 05:57:00 NAV came OEM with my computer last Dec. Live update expires in 3 weeks. Is it cheaper to subscribe through the 0800 nz number, or to purchase the new NAV 2002?

Yes I know there are cheaper / free versions, but the kids use it heaps and I like knowing I am up to date with downloads.

23389 2001-11-02 06:14:00 Hi,

Do neither. You can download NAV's updates manually for free at

www.symantec.com

and then clicking on the appropriate definition. I just have the URL as a favourite, and click on it whenever I want to update.

23390 2001-11-02 06:19:00 It is much cheaper to subscribe, either through the 0800 nz number, or via the Symantec website (probably paying by creditcard in US$...) Guest (0)
23391 2001-11-02 10:43:00 If you uninstall NAV and remove all traces it from the whole system. Then reinstall and you should get another year of live updates. Or do a format and clean install of everything as Windows probably needs it done anyway.
