| 23395 | 2001-11-02 03:00:00 | Refer the earlier posting on this: I have never used the live update function but have always simply gone to the symantec website and downloaded the updated virus definitions. I have had the software for over two years now. Question is: Is this giving me a lesser protection than if I had been using live update? Thanks |

| 23396 | 2001-11-02 03:24:00 | Downloading them from the website your self is giving you know less protection, all it is doing is meaning that you have to conciously download definitions and install them, rather than have it do it itself when you want to or when you schedule it to (ie every 2 days) JM |

| 23398 | 2001-11-02 03:41:00 | Also, downloading manually means you download the WHOLE virus definitions, whereas doing a live update only downloads the updates that you need (doesn't always work like this, but its supposed to), saving you valuable download time. | Guest (0) | ||
