23333 2001-11-01 10:00:00 I have Windows 98 2nd edition and I wish to change the ?Welcome to Windows 98?start up screen. I read that to do this I go to Explorer \ windows \ options \ install, open Win_19cab R/click SuLOGO SYS, Trouble is I have no ?install? or ?win_19cab? or ?SuLOGO SYS? that I can find. Could you please help?. Guest (0)
23334 2001-11-01 13:05:00 Your Windows starting screen is stored in the file called logo.sys stored in the C:\Windows\System folder.

Just save a bitmap as logo.sys after renaming the original to logo.old and you'll have a changed splash screen.

23335 2001-11-01 18:18:00 You will also need to make sure that the new picture you use is a specific size (320x400). Then just rename it with the extension logo.sys and place it in your windows directory.Make sure you make a backup of your old logo.sys file in case you need to reinstall it.
Hope this helps
