| 23432 | 2001-11-02 10:36:00 | The System: Windows 98SE, Primary IDE - Master 6.4Gb, Slave Segate 20 GB; Secondary IDE - Master CDRW, Slave CDROM. 266MHz PII, Bios date 13/5/98 The problem: Every now and again when I boot my machine up the device manager indicates a problem with the disc drives, and the hard disc controllers. When this happens both drives are operating in the MS DOS compatibility mode, the system runs slow, Norton cleansweep doesn't work etc. I reboot and everything is fine, until the next time. I'd like to know what to do next to prevent this problem from happening at all. Any offers? Cheers |
