23555 2001-11-04 03:10:00 Has anyone else found that Epson 480 ink level detecion is temperature sensitive. Friends complained that it was out of ink in the first week from new. When I came to look at it, the pretty screen printer control panel said it was close to full. Of course it had refused to print school work early in the morning. Now, a month or so later, when I had to reinstall the printer driver (after ME restore system) the panel said that not only the black, but all 3 colour tanks were equally low. They have not printed hundreds of pages. They have not printed any a4 colour photographs. If it was just an indicator, it would not matter, but if the sensor says 'no ink', the driver says 'NO PRINT'. I hate modern technology. Guest (0)

It seems to almost double its life, and also resets the ink level thing.

23557 2001-11-05 10:10:00 Had problem with epson 700 photo printer. I foolishly had it sitting in hot sunlight for much of the day. problem gone when i shifted it into a cool sun-free spot.

probably not the problem but a thought,
