Go to http://www.tomshardware.com This site will tell you pretty much everything you could possibly want to know, as well as several things you dont really want to know about hardware. Recipe for building a computer 1 x ATX power supply 1 x case 1 x Motherboard 1 x CPU minimum 1 x RAM minimum 1 x Harddrive 1 x floppy drive 1 x keyboard 1 x mouse optional extras: 1 x graphics card 1 x soundcard 1 x modem 1 x network card 1 x CDROM Make sure your motherboard can handle your RAM and your CPU Make sure you have an AGP port if you want a graphics card Make sure the motherboard has enough expansion slots for anything you will want to add. Make sure you use an anti static strap when handling components, clipping the other end to something that is earthed (but not live ;-) Be prepared to spend SEVERAL hours working at it, in my experience it is never 100% working the first attempt. |

If you want new parts Ascent.co.nz http://www.dragonpc.co.nz/ Stay away from on board sound and graphics if you are serious about gaming. |
