| 23525 | 2001-11-03 06:55:00 | I have a motherboard with an integrated soundcard (yamaha) and I also have a Soundblaster Awe64 ISA soundcard. I was wondering if it is at all possible to have them both running at the same time so that i can use the Speaker Out/Line Out ports on both for various speakers that i have. ANY HELP APPRECIATED. | Guest (0) | ||

You should be running a feed from your 'line out' of your soundcard to your 'linein' on your stereo to which your speakers are thus connected..Should you require surround sound..bass etc you may have to upgrade to a better sound card with outputs to match your stereo.. ==Orac== |

I would have said disable the onboard sound, but if the alternative is ISA Awe64, you probably should stick with the onboard ;-) If you want to run multiple speaker sets from one line out plug, just split the lines. For about $2.95, you can get a 1-2 3.5mm splitter from Dick Smith, this will turn one female 3.5mm plug into two, the trade off is that the signal is halved between the two sockets, so you only have half the potential volume going to each lot of speakers. |

Eg one playing a sample while the other is running my midi kit. Both can play samples simultaniously too, which can be handy with apps that don't support Directsound for mixing..... |
