23497 2001-11-03 03:24:00 I can create a restore point but when I try to restore the system to an earlier time I get the following message;
'Your computer cannot be restored to' date time or point indicated.
'No changes have been made to your computer'.
I would prefer to have this facility working in case of future need and would appreciate advice.

23498 2001-11-03 04:13:00 Have you made any changes since you made that restore point Des huh?

The whole point is to use the restore feature after some changes that adversly affect system integrety.

I suggest you make some changes then you may be able to restore.

23499 2001-11-03 04:29:00 Hi Des,
If you haven't made any changes it won't activate, but if you have & it is still showing that message, I would suggest that you close everything in your sys tray (including your virus scanner) and give it another go.... I have just run the same program and I found it worked better if everything was closed off.

Good Luck, RINGO

23500 2001-11-04 02:58:00 I had to use that on a friend's machine. It seems to restore MS stuff. We have had to reinstall (manually) so far: brittanica, the epson printer,
an old DOS game, microsoft Office Pro ( an old version on floppies)... The 3rd former thinks they should take the computer back bexause it is still under warranty. I find it difficult to explain that software comes with no promises that it will do anything.
