| 23585 | 2001-11-04 08:47:00 | Hi, I have a Abit-BF6 motherboard with p550 and currently 128ram. The ram is in its DIMM sockets and it is a 128 PC100 one, so i'm wanting to add another 256 for gaming, so what sort should i get is it a dimm or simm (dimm i think, sorry i don't know these things) and too: i don't think many people sell 100's now so is it ok to get 133? what's the price at the moment, i've heard recently they're about under 80 +gst for a normal one. what's the cheapest one around? | Guest (0) | ||

Check your manual to find the maximum size dimm your board will handle..eg.. if you can take 256megs make sure the module you buy is populated on both sides..A lot of the new ram coming out is the new density type and has been causing a few issues with older machines not reading the full amount.. ==Orac== |
