23828 2001-11-07 03:14:00 I was looking at some sites the other day and noticed that some Gigabyte motherboards have a dual BIOS. What is it about, is it so that you can switch between two BIOS's and if you flash one and doesn't work out, you've got a spare one left.

Cheers, JM

23830 2001-11-07 07:28:00 Are you still looking? In my last posting on this subject I did not mention Gigabyte by name because I have one. A GA-7ZX with dual bios. ( the second one is a back up that takes over in the event of problems with the primary one) my problem is that mine has developed a fault just 5 weeks out of warranty and the NZ agents don`t want to know about it. As I said before, the price you pay will not guarantee quality or service. What counts is the specs and who you must deal with - in NZ it will only be an Agent. The overseas manufacturer is not interested in our Consumer Guarantee Act and unless the Agent can put it back on the Manufacturer he will be reluctant to act. I was accused of being a fossil and out of it but you will find in the long run I am right.
Good hunting and don`t be fooled by the fancy Ads.
