| 23796 | 2001-11-06 11:09:00 | I am running Win98 SE I have noticed that when I run winamp the speaker volume for all misic drops. by checking the Volume control program (programs, accessories, entertainment. Volume control) I notice that the Wave output balance slider has reset its self to the bottom of the range. This occur if I change the music selected. This dose not happen with Windows media player or Music Jukebox. I tried reinstalling Volume control but this has no effect upon the problem what is happening ?. Thanks |

When I open Volume Control, all sound controllers are set to maximum, but adjusting them makes no difference to the volume - except the wave balance control, which, when reduced below maximum, cuts out the sound completely (which makes sense, since this is controlled by the volume control in MM). When this happens, I reboot, and usually everything returns to normal (ie, I can use the wave balance controller to adjust the volume). Note that even when the wave balance control is stuck in this on/off state, I can still adjust the volume when I'm using Windows Media Player. I'm running WinME with a Soundlaster AWE 64 sound card. |
