| 23822 | 2001-11-07 01:06:00 | When I run Norton Speed disk to defrag my drive, I get the message right after it starts to optimise the folders 'EMAILE~1 contains illegal long file names on Drive C' ' run NDD to correct' I begin that process and it tells me 'Fixing the DOS boot record' then 'The Boot record could not be repaired' The result of all this is that my drive is becoming increasingly slow and fragged. I have the latest Norton 2002 anti-virus running so have ruled out a virus although one may have hit me before I got this version. Any ideas would be gratefully accepted and tried. |

When I then run disc doctor I then strike the problem of a extended Dos partician problem so that then stops Norton from going further. If any solution is found please let me know also. Thanks |
