| 23722 | 2001-11-06 05:35:00 | Well I'm finally down to a freeze only in the odd game off the CD after about a half to an hour of play. I've managed to get rid of blue screens sound loop freezes etc. My system has an nvdia GeForce 2 and a via chipset, and have spend over a month getting to this stage. Just wondered if this may help. | Guest (0) | ||
| 23723 | 2001-11-06 06:48:00 | hi Bill, if you are running an AGP video card, particularly a Nvidia one and you get frequent lockups and reboots under XP/2000, try the following: Go into the device manager and update the 'VIA Tech AGP to CPU bridge' driver to 'PCI standard PCI to PCI bridge' This will cure your problems but will knock 20-60% off your 3D performance. |
