23950 2001-11-08 09:19:00 I 64mb of ram in my computer. 2x 32mb dimms of sd-ram. At present i could install another but that would only bring my ram up to 96mb.

I have heard you can now buy 128mb sticks. Would my computer take 256mb if i were to buy 2 of these sticks?

My computer is a celeron 300 bitser.

23951 2001-11-08 10:14:00 hey, you could easily get 512 ram you know, as long as you're motherboard could take it. do you know what brand and model the motherboard is? 256 are quite cheap now anyway about 65 bucks. while 2 128's would cost about 90, so why 2 128's? as long as you're motherboard can take the amount (check the manual first!!!) then go for it ;-) Guest (0)
23952 2001-11-08 22:02:00 Yeah, RAM is pretty cheap at the moment, so I would stick in as much as your motherboard can handle, and you can afford.

You may find that your older memory doesnt like to work with the new memory, so if you get problems try removing the old DIMM's first.
