I tried to set up call-waiting so it would switch off my internet when I recieved a call. I put in the line IDG suggested but all it did was make my dail up hang any futher suggestions. Much appreciated, Peter. |

In my experience, there is no set up required. If you just dial your ISP's number leaving callwaiting active, you should get bumped by any incoming calls. If you dial *52 first, this disables call waiting and you will NOT be bumped by incoming calls. |

What string are you using? +pcw=1 in the extra settings bit of your modem properties? That's the only trick I'm aware of. - Iain, when I've used the modem on a phone with call waiting I've never been kicked off - which is why at the time I was glad to have found this string! I think some modems just have very good error correction, which is great, but a pain if u want your calls to come through. |
