24183 2001-11-11 07:36:00 When I attempt to access the internet I get an error message saying ' Dial Up Networking cannot start' I can sometimes get in by closing down the computer and rebooting.( that's how I'm able to post this message)My question - how do you uninstall and reinstall D.U Networking ? I don't see it in Add/Remove Programmes in Control Panel. Once removed do I also have to reinstall my ISP configuration too? If so can I avoid this by dragging the ISP icon onto the desktop before I uninstall D.U.N then drag it back in again once reinstalled to avoid having to make a new connection again? Guest (0)
24184 2001-11-11 08:16:00 If your DUN is giving you trouble ( not sure what operating system you are using, assuming 95-98 ) go to 'dial up networking' folder and create a new dial up connection before you delete the old one, this will probably put most of your current settings in by default, as you work through the wizard. If there are any settings you need you can always look in the old connection to get them.

When you are finished and only if the new connection works ok you can right click the old connection in dial up networking and delete it.

If you have problems with the new connection, then you can delete it, and you will be back to where you started with the old connection.

24185 2001-11-11 08:37:00 make sure you have your copy of your cab files ( win cd) handy.
To install then reinstall DUN.
Go to. start - settings - control panel - add remove programs - windows setup - comunications - scroll down to DUN then remove tick.
restart the compute, then same place put in tick, point to cab files. restart then reset your user info.
