| 24129 | 2001-11-10 21:47:00 | My Monitor is Philips 14' SVGA. The screen is set at 640x480. But it cannot contain what is displayed in the website.the information in the screen overlaps on to both sides. If this is increased, the entire materials on the screen go small and difficult to read. Does any one know what to do to change the resolution in between 640x480 and the next highest so that the Monitor could contain the entire info within the 14' boundary? Sorry Ian and Steve. | 24130 | 2001-11-10 22:34:00 | Well, the problem is, an increasing number of web sites are being designed for 1024x768 display on 17' and bigger monitors. 14' monitors cant really hack it nowadays, even 15' monitors with 800x600 display are struggling. Most 14' monitors are also now rather old, and they tend to be fuzzier with 800x600. Looks like you may have to dig into your pocket and upgrade. |

| 24131 | 2001-11-10 23:38:00 | Firstly, if you are spending any length of time using your computer, you should really consider upgrading to at least a 15', and preferably a 17'. Once you have set the resolution you want, you can then use your monitors controls to adjust the height, width V-align and H-Align, if your monitor doesnt HAVE controls, you definately want to upgrade ;-) |

| 24133 | 2001-11-11 04:08:00 | You should be able to see most of the page at 800x600 (the next one up). You could try setting windows to use Large fonts. You can set it from the Display Control Panel, Settings tab, advanced button, General Tab. There is a drop down that will be set to 'Small Fonts'. Also you could try Opera (www.opera.com) which allows you to set a zoom factor on web pages. |
