24086 2001-11-09 21:04:00 i am looking to add some more ram to my system.what sort of quality differences are there in the different brands, and is the length of warranty a good indicator. dick smith is selling 512mb pc 133 for $190 with a lifetime warranty. the fact that it is dse brand puts me off a little. would i be better to spend a little more and what would be the best brand to go for.
thanx.

Generally most stuff with atleast a 5 year warranty will be fine.

24088 2001-11-11 05:36:00 I wouldn't buy at dick smith just like you said, the quality isn't very good at all even though it's made by some other company, i'd go for some of those asian shops, selling for a bargin $45 -80 (the most expensive) i'd go for the 45 'cos not much difference, really the quality is excellent mostly made in korea (one of the top poeople who sell it) they all have lifetime warranty so go back if any problems, i just brought a transend (very very good) from lgm pc world for such a low price (shouldn't need to say how much ;-)) Guest (0)
