| 24024 | 2001-11-09 04:43:00 | Hi there! I used to live in NZ and live in Singapore now but still maintain my subscription to PC World which arrives by fastpost promptly at the beginning of each new month. My problem is with sending email only. I've been having this problem for some time now since subscribing to cable here in Singapore (scv.com.sg). The cable operator only provides access to the web without an email or SMTP server. I still have a dialup account but the SMTP there does not allow connection through the cable operators system, they expect you to dialup to their domain. What I would like to do is find out if you know of any free SMTP services out there that are not restricted and will reroute email. This would greatly help me in sending emails from my desktop. I suppose that if there are no free ones that the next best thing would be to pay for this service which I don't mind doing if the service is reliable. Thanks and keep up the great work. Regards, Balraj |

You don't have to use an annoying web interface covered with adverts either (though they do include webmail too) To be honest I don't know how they make a profit but hey!.. the address is www.gmx.com It will be in German, but the language selector is in the top right. There is a 10 MB mailbox limit and you can only relay messages up to 10MB (after UU/mime encoding) off their SMTP server, but I find it's adequate for most binaries. |

What I need is access to an SMTP server which I can use to send mail from my existing ISP account while NOT dialed-up or connected to that ISP, but another connection service [which by the way does not provide an SMTP service]. |
