| 24300 | 2001-11-13 02:07:00 | I've come across an unusual problem with my Outlook Express. It appears to be deleting or removing the messages I've kept in the drafts folder. I use this folder for partially completed messages or work in progress, templates etc. I normally save the message and then retrieve it from the drafts folder when I'm going to work on it again. When I went to the Drafts folder yesterday, I found that the whole contents of the folder had gone. They had not been deleted and put into the Deleted items folder but were gone altogether. I tried resurrecting the messages by doing an import from where the backups are ususally stored in the following folder: Local settings/Application Data/Identities/Microsoft/Outlook Express However, the messages from the Drafts folder were not even there. In the end I resurrected some of the messages I had in the drafts folder from an e-mail back up of a month or so ago. That kept me going for a little while. Then tonight, after playing a game I decided to check the e-mail. After doing so, I couldn't access the Drafts folder and got a message saying the disc was full or there wasn't enough memory. I have plenty of both. Any ideas as to what's going on? I've worked like this for years with Outlook Express and never seen this happen before. This is not a new install of Windows 2000 or anything like that and there are no other obvious problems. The Microsoft support site doesn't really help. I'm running Windows 2000, Internet Explorer 5.5. My system is a Duron 700 (running at 866), 256MB Ram, GeForce MX, and 2 X 20 GB hard drives. Many thanks Darryl Lennane |
