| 24200 | 2001-11-11 22:25:00 | I have got win98 and win me installed but this is causing me a few problems can not find win me uninstall.so i thought the best way to fix problem would be to re formatt hardrive but i do not know how to do this can someone please help me thankyou Richard |

| 24201 | 2001-11-11 23:34:00 | Good luck finding a ME uninstall ;-) If you want to reformat your hard drive, the formatting part is easy, stick a blank floppy disk into the disk drive and in a DOS window type format a: /s If you partitioned your hard drive, and want to remove the partition, you will also want to copy fdisk.exe onto this disk. Now restart your computer with the floppy disk in the drive, when a prompt appears - A:\> Type format c: Say yes to the warnings and wait. The installing part is the tedious part, you will want to make sure you have copies of all hardware drivers, your OS installation disk, installation copies of any programs you use, backups of any data files you wanted to keep etc etc. Make sure you have copies of everything you want to have on the clean install BEFORE you format your HD. Then install OS, drivers, applications, data files in that order is usually easiest. |

| 24202 | 2001-11-12 00:57:00 | Richard, I've just been through this process myself, and the most important thing is to have *ALL* of your drivers and files backed up. for a good step-by-step guide, see: www.planethardware.com I followed this guide, and everything seemed to work out alright, but remember to have ALL of your drivers on disk before you start (visit the manufacturers website & d/load if necessary) Hope everything goes well..
