Hi, Try going into control panel, then system, click the device manager tab, and remove the cdrom controller. Windows 98/nt4 or later (and some versions of 95) will re-install it automatically, you may need to reboot. This will replace the driver, and hopefully get it going... How long has windows been installed for, and what version are you running? |

I have been running windows 95 on my computer for about 1 year now but it has been on the computer for longer but I have only resently started using it. the cd rom is GoldStar CRD-8240B. I followed the instructions you said but i was unsure if I should remove it because a warning box comes up saying that im about to remove it from my system but nothing about reinstalling is this correct?
Thanks |

from experience, i would say your cd-rom has had it. replace it with a new one - only about $100 |
